Jackdaws......

Theresa and Alastair have also run a very successful series of courses since 2006 at Jackdaws, near Frome in Somerset; “Stylish Baroque”. This is a very intimate course, with room for only a dozen or so participants, tucked away in a deeply rural and idyllic setting. Accommodation is provided in B and B’s around the village, and meals (truly delicious) are provided at Jackdaws. The 2018 course will be from 7th – 9th September.

Chamber music days at Apple Tree Cottage

Theresa is planning to run a series of baroque chamber music coaching days at her house. She has a nice little Colin Booth Italian harpsichord and a lovely music room which will accommodate groups of four or five people. Her cottage is in beautiful countryside in north Hampshire, just south of Newbury.

The days will start with coffee and biscuits at 10.00am with coaching from 10.30 until 1.00. Theresa will provide lunch and the afternoon session will run from 2.30 until 4.30, followed by tea and cakes. The cost will be £70 per person for groups of four, reduced to £60 for groups of five. Some weekend dates are currently available and mid-week sessions could also be arranged. Please contact Theresa at theresa@canzona.co.uk if you are interested and would like to book a day.

Trinity Hall College, Cambridge

As leader of Andrew Arthur’s ensemble, Orpheus Britannicus, Theresa gives regular coaching sessions in baroque style to students at Trinity Hall College, Cambridge, often in conjunction with performances in Cambridge with this ensemble.  In 2013, a concert of solo and trio sonatas by Corelli with Orpheus Britannicus was followed by a workshop for students exploring his music, led by Theresa together with Andrew Arthur, who is Director of Music at the college.
